SHOE OF THE WEEK MOVIES

We've been making some Shoe of the Week movies and thought you might like to take a peek. ENJOY!

SOWhalona.jpg

Jessica Bennett "Halona": I bet it's difficult being really beautiful. You think I'm kidding? How can one woman have so much? When I saw her walk into the room, I think I gasped. She was the most stunning woman I had ever seen. She could have been a "plus size" model (I loved that she was not a skinny minny), with beautiful chocolately skin, and my jaw dropped. She knew how to dress and she knew how to carry herself. This woman had a grace and elegance that reminded me of Sophia Loren. She was all kinds of woman - all wrapped up in one single woman. I couldn't take my eyes off her. I think that somewhere in me I knew I may never see another quite like her.

PREVIOUS SHOE OF THE WEEK PROFILES

SOwLovely1.jpg

Shoes for Lovely People "Anastasia": Lovely was how she felt as she walked along the water's edge, forgetting all about the demands of the city. That fast paced style was just too much for her to bear sometimes. She needed a break. A chance to relax and be around genuine people that weren't just trying to use her to better their careers. Being an editor for a fashion magazine had always been her dream, but right now, she was dreaming of clouds reflecting on infinity pools and fruity drinks with umbrellas in them. What a beautiful day far, far away from the city....just feeling lovely.

SOWcomo.jpg

Corso Como "Dove": Yeah, so... she was from the other side of the tracks. She had heard that all her life. It always seemed funny to her that it mattered to people. After all, she was the one with her act together. Her friends from "the right families" had struggled with things that seemed unimaginable to her. When she came back home to visit, did it matter anymore that she only had one pair of jeans all the way through high school? Her parents were still together. They had sacrificed so much to make sure she could go to college and realize her dreams. Yeah, so... she was was from the other side of the tracks. The good side.

SOWF.jpg

Fly London "Loose": You can't hold tight to this free bird. She wants to FLY! Just let her loose and watch what happens. When her father sent her off to college to study literature, he thought he was investing in the next great American journalist. How could he have known that after graduation all this little girl really wanted to do was fly? Literally. So what is a dad to do? He paid for flight school and crossed his fingers that this was really what his daughter wanted. Imagine his proud grin, just recently, when she made Captain. Fly free bird... fly!

SOWbernie3.jpg

Bernie Mev "Nicole": The first time I saw her she was working behind the concierge counter at the Embassy Suites in Chicago. She was a nice girl. A helpful girl. When she walked by us again (after hours - in her own clothes) she looked like a different person. I stopped her to say, "Hello". She had completely transformed and her outfit was... well, it was unlike anything I had ever seen. I loved it. Unique, imaginative, but very wearable. I wanted that jacket. She explained that her real passion was design. She took old fabrics (or old outfits) and she "remade" them into something new and amazing. I was so taken with her....this girl that stood, by day, behind the concierge counter.

franco1.jpg

Franco Sarto "Abide": It's been a long, cold winter with more snow than she could remember in a very long time. When would the sun come out? When would the flowers start to bloom? She couldn't wait to shed her winterwear and lunch in a pretty little sundress and sandals. She thought, "Key West is sounding really good right about now". Oh to have her toes exposed and feel the sun's rays on her shoulders. Soon. She knew it would be soon.

SWheidi.jpg

Jessica Bennett "Heidi": Heidi knows how to enjoy her life. She works hard and plays smart: Summers in the Hampton's, tennis on Saturday mornings, and quiet time with a book on occasion. Shopping is part of her job as an interior designer (lucky girl) and she often travels to find just the right things for her clients. Comfort is key and her personal style is effortless. With every carefree step she takes, her confidence radiates. The next beach house she decorates should be mine.

SWkendra.jpg

Luichiny "Kendra": She's not a wallflower that's for sure. Kendra has worked the Auto Show circuit and now is the spokeswoman for a line of exquisite rugs from Hagopian. Presently, you can find her strutting her stuff at Hagopian's Birmingham location. Her next stop? Who knows. I hear she makes frequent stops in Northville. One thing is certain, where ever she goes she attracts a crowd.

Boot.jpg

Good Choice "Debra": Debra was no stranger to the cold. This ranch girl had been working horses and running feed since she was "knee-high to a grasshopper" as her pappy liked to say. She grew up on her daddy's farm (that had belonged to his father and his father's father), and all her best memories came from that place. Moving to New York City was a hard choice for her to make, but she had her family's blessing. They always knew that Debbie was destined for greater things. Tonight, however, on her way to dinner with friends, the cold winter wind hit her face in a way that struck a memory. She could almost smell them in the cold burst and suddenly she longed for a just little piece of home.

Penelope1.jpg

Miz Mooz "Penelope": She's a practical girl, with a practical job, and she's liked by practically everyone that knows her. But, don't confuse practical with predictable. This girl is anything but predictable. So what, that she carries an umbrella in her briefcase (just in case it rains), and so what that she requires comfortable shoes. She has to walk eleven blocks to work, and be on top of her game from 9-5. Who said comfortable has to be predictably black or predictably unattractive? This smart, practical girl stands out from the pack and that's why everyone took notice in the first place.

Plaid1.jpg

Palovio "Plaid": I heard this woman say, "I don't know what I'd wear with those shoes, but they are so cool!" I smiled with agreement as her friend said, "If you love the shoes, you build your outfit around them. Seriously, look how hot I am!" That was it for me. If I feel hot in the shoe, they are mine! I'll work them into my wardrobe somehow.

Tangerine1.jpg

Restricted "Tangerine": What a prissy little thing, with a laugh you can't forget. She's one of those girls that you want to be around. The kind of girl that makes a party happen and the sun shine on the cloudiest day. Appropriate in the workplace and the best kind of fun after hours, this gal just might be your new best friend.

bahar.jpg

Ann Marino "Bahar": This week, at Club Lorla's, we have the distinct honor and pleasure to present Miss Bahar! She's a singer, a dancer, an entertainer, a star! Requested at parties and events across the country, Miss Bahar has cleared her schedule, canceling all engagements, to perform live at Lorla's. You don't want to miss this act! Call ahead for reservations or take your chances for availability at the door.

Babette.jpg

JShoes "Babette": Like many famous muses before her, Babette, once oblivious to her allure, found herself the inspiration of rock stars and artists alike. When she turned her affections to Carlos, his band "Exodus" became tabloid favorites overnight. Despite the fact that she could actually carry a tune, she told the press, "I don't want to be known as the girl that broke up Exodus!" She had seen what happened with Yoko and the Beatles. Not to mention Patti Boyd and the whole Eric Clapton/George Harrison thing. Nonetheless, her influence is clearly felt on the band's new album Uniquely Mine.

Edna1.jpg

Corso Como "Edna": From the boardroom to the boutique, this lady (with the pep in her step) gets what she wants. Edna may be successful and driven, but she knows what is most important; friends, family, and taking time to relax. Life is too short and she knows better than anyone that sometimes you just have to let it all go, cancel a couple of appointments and have a drink with a long lost friend. What's not to admire about a woman who is comfortable in her own skin?

newhale1.jpg

Hale Bob "Stella": Stella loved dressing up in mommy's things when she was a little girl. She would clothe herself in mommy's finest evening dresses, carefully apply makeup (all over her face, hands, and bathroom counter), select just the right "diamonds" to adorn pure perfection, strap on the most glamorous shoes, and wrap it all in a mink shawl. As she (wobbled... I mean) gracefully glided the carpeted hall from the bedrooms to the living room, she would call out for all to wish her a good time at the "ball". There, in the living room, stood the most handsome prince (her daddy) waiting for the first dance. She swirled and twirled and dreamed about a marrying a prince just like her daddy.

Havana1.jpg

Jessica Bennett "Havana": Welcome to Cuba, my friends. If Lucy spent more time in these little beauties, Ricky would have spent a lot less time at the Tropicana. "Oh Lucy!" Embroidered patent leather, as fine as the art of tattooing, gives these special numbers an edge. She doesn't just want to be in the show, Mr. Ricardo. She is the show!

Affairs.jpg

Poetic Licence "Affairs": She walked into the ballroom and heads turned collectively. Whispers erupted and the question on everyone's lips rang louder than the orchestra, "Who is she?" Radiantly, she waltzed across the floor leaving everyone in awe, but she content that only he might notice. How could he not? Could she be the one that he had been waiting for? The one he had longed for? She captured his heart with a demure glance and that's when their love affair began. You see, she knew that affairs of the heart dance in our memories forever.

Filigree1.jpg

Miz Mooz "Filigree": When mustard looks like this, it becomes our favorite condiment. And, what a bold and beautiful compliment she makes when you turn away from black and brown long enough to see the possiblities. The mid sized heel and comfort features in this maryjane makes her a staple in your fall wardrobe.

Genesis1.jpg

Jessica Bennett - "Genesis": This tortoise patent leather stunner nearly knocked me out! She pulls away from the pack as a leader. Pure class with a sassy vibe. Jessica Bennett never lets me down and Genesis (as you know) is just the beginning of the story.
